Zion Ponderosa Ranch

Okay, so I don't know what my deal is with the private cabins, but I seem to be drawn to resorts with them. There are not rates listed on the website, but I am waiting for a call back from the group reservations person. The cabins all have private bedrooms and baths, so I think it would satisfy those who want their own rooms as well as those who wouldn't mind sharing a cabin.

I have also had a couple of people say they would rather go to southern Utah, and no one else has said whether they car either way. So if you care, let me know!!! I am concentrating my look in Southern Utah right now.

Hidden Springs Ranch

This resort is in Altamont, Utah. I think it is a couple hours from SLC. It doesn't have the separate rooms. You rent the entire place and it holds 90 people. Only five separate bedrooms with king beds, and then 2 rooms with a queen bed, full bed, and twin bunks over each, 4 rooms with 4 full beds with a twin bunk over each, and 2 rooms with 4 queen beds each with a twin bunk over head. While it would be fabulous to have an entire place to ourselves, I know that it would be nice and cozy to be so close to each other.

Check out their website for amenities and floor plans, as well as pictures of the rooms.

Where to have it

So, the first question I want to address is the where. I think Utah will be the best place to have it. We can try to do something closer to SLC and Provo so people could stay with families that live there (Jon and Beverly, Jake and Caroline, etc.). I haven't been able to find a good place close enough yet, but I have barely begun looking. One place I have found that I thought might be good is too far away to stay with family. It is the Pinewoods Resort in Cedar Mountain Village in Southern Utah.

It has great accommodations at an already low price as well as many different activities (sand volleybell, basketball court (that's for you Uncle Jon!)). It is right near Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. They also have ATV's for rent, and Horseback riding. There is also biking, fishing and boating available near by. They have a restaurant on sight as well as kitchens in the different cabins. If any of you have heard anything good or bad about this resort I would love to hear about it! If any of you know of something closer to SLC that would be great too.

I will do my best to accommodate everyones different schedules and desires, but I know I won't be able to please everyone. So bear with me and, if we work together, we can pull this thing off!
